Thankful that it's raining today, I'll let it wash the car
the heavy bucket won’t hurt my back, shan’t have to walk too far...
up and down the garden to water all the flowers
The hosepipe's got these awful kinks, it'll save me lots of hours
roses red, the roses pink and yellow orange ones
hydrangeas and geraniums and those that came from mums.
Thankful for the cooler breeze, I’ll put the clothes away
Collected here, piling there, on the floor, upon the chair
I must confess, this home's a tip. I think I’ll tidy up
Hoover clean, change the beds when sleepyheads are up
Thank goodness there’s no school today and no "hey you must get dressed"
Thanks to all the work from home, there’s no more shirts to press
Thankful for the bread machine I might just bake a loaf
I’ll pour it in and press on go sitting by the stove
Thankful for the leftovers I don't think I will cook
I'll have some time to rest a bit and read another book!
