We say home is where the heart is
but what if that heart is torn between a rock and a hard place?
When oceans and mountains and thousands of miles join hands to be in your way?
how to choose between a dying relative, one that you love but never was really there
You cannot take the one you tied the knot with
Nor the little boy you love dearly who's home alone as negative labelling was to blame?
No school buddies to talk to, as those powerpoint style of teaching sealed his fate
Learning through play, a thing of the past, and that is how he learns
instead the system dictated he had to comply, regulations that made not even a bit of sense
Stressed out teachers, injustice he saw all around, unanswered questions that he daren't ask spinning around in his head
When mental health is at crisis and schooling has become a place
where the foundation of bullies are laid.
But back to why I must leave them behind another unanswered question.
Why is it that none citizens need a vaccines but nationals only need a PCR test
Who makes up these rules and why do we let them?
How does one leave their family, knowing there is red tape and more of the same?
What will happen to that little boy who is home alone when his mummy is miles away?
Is it his fault his granddad neglected his duties?
If Only I could say he made his bed and now he must lay in it.
