Chirp chirp, all around
There's a shuffling sound
I can no longer rest
There’s too much resound
Last year was a lucky one
So too many said
There were birds in our walls
From dusk until dawn
a few little squeaks at around 8 am
Then surfaced again at half past 10
coming and going were two feathery friends
Coexisting with us somewhere near our door
A few weeks later, a really sharp tone.
I couldn’t quite figure that cut through the bone
It got louder and louder, too much for my ear.
What is that thing? Is it out? Or in here?
I went to the kitchen to fetch us a drink
Saw a little black thing somewhere near the sink
What have they done? I’ve just mopped the floor!
How could I miss that it? could there be any more?
It was frozen in time and so was that sound
I walked a bit closer as I looked all around
Quite a few more that were making their way
From the hall to the kitchen to my utter dismay
My heart beating fast as I reached for a pan
my boy was at home and at work was my Man
There were gaps in the bricks where their parents had pecked
some invisible eggs or chicks in a nest?
A bird in house' is a sign of good luck.
An Omen, don't worry just wait it to struck
We waited all spring and summer too passed
And autumn and winter gave way to the rest
Why am I waking at 4:30 am?
Which one of those singing was with us back then?
